Zydus Wellness Q3 net profit at Rs 27.2 cr

Year ago profit of Rs 44.42 cr is not comparable with current figures due to accrued excise duty credit

Zydus Wellness Ltd has registered a consolidated net profit of Rs 27.3 crore for the third quarter of FY2016. It had posted a net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of profit/loss of associates of Rs 44.42 crore for the same period a year ago. However, the company noted in its press statement, that the net profit of Rs 27.3 crore in Q3FY16 was arrived at after excluding the impact of additional excise duty credit received for three years starting FY12. This amount accrued for the period April-December 2014, and was accounted for during the quarter ended December 31, 2014

Zydus Wellness' consolidated total income from operations stood at Rs 110.24 crore for the quarter under review, which was down from Rs 129.26 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

The company said that its flagship brand Sugar Free continued to lead the market with a share of 93.3 per cent, up by 110 basis points. It also manufactures products under the Nutralite and EverYuth brands.

Shares of Zydus Wellness today closed 1.83 per cent down at Rs 731.60 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
