New Delhi-based All India Management Association (AIMA) has announced the test schedule of the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2017 for admission to MBA courses. Candidates interested in making the fee payment via demand draft can register online on the official website by November 26, 2016. Those making online fee payment can register by November 29, 2016. 

According to the official notification on the AIMA website, the written entrance exam has been scheduled for December 11, 2016 whereas the computer-based exam will be conducted from December 17, 2016.

Eligibility criteria 
Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply for the MAT. The bachelor’s degree can be from any university/college or institute as long as it is a government recognised university, college or institute. Even the final year students of graduate courses can appear for the test, but the admission will be provisional till they submit their graduation certificates.

How to apply
Candidates can either choose to complete all the procedure online, or fill the registration form online here and send a printed copy to the Association. The examination fee of Rs. 1200 can by paid using credit card/debit card (ATM card) or through net banking. Alternatively, candidate can obtain crossed demand draft (DD) of Rs. 1200 (one thousand two hundred only) in favour of All India Management Association payable at Delhi from any bank. The last date for the printed application form along with other necessary documents, and proof of online payment or demand draft to reach AIMA is November 29, 2016.

Candidates who have registered and paid the fees online need not send the printout of the registration form. However, they should save and carry a printout of registration form for reference.

All filled-in forms or printout of online registration, if required to be sent, received at AIMA will be processed within five working days. The form numbers of such forms will be available here. The receipts will be scrutinized, and if found in order, it will be provisionally registered. However, form printout received later than the due date is liable to be rejected. Neither any correspondence in this regard will be entertained nor the fee to be refunded.

How to take the test
Candidate can choose any one of the two options to take the test, either paper-based test or computer-based test. The paper-based test will be conducted on December 11, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. 

Computer-based test will be conducted December 17, 2016 onwards across venues. If the number of candidates registered for computer-based test at a particular venue is limited and can be accommodated in a single day, the test will be completed on December 17, 2016.

All provisionally registered candidates both for paper-based and computer-based test can download their admit card from the website on or after December 3, 2016. The card includes candidate's name, form no, roll no, test date, test time and test venue. Specific admit card is generated both for the candidates opting for the paper-based test and for the computer-based test. In the case of computer-based test, candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to him/her.

Paper pattern
The selection of candidates will be based on the examination conducted over two and a half hour. All questions will be mandatory and have equal marks. Candidate will be negatively marked for a wrong answer.

MAT is an objective-type test, designed and developed to ascertain the aptitude of the candidates to undergo post-graduate programme in management. It has five sections and each section includes forty questions. The total 200 questions are to be attempted over 150 minutes.
