AP to introduce digital classroom concept

The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to implement the concept of digital classrooms in all the residential schools from the next academic year.

Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu who held a meeting with Tata ClassEdge CEO Neerav Khambati on Wednesday, suggested him to partner with Cisco to implement the digital classroom project in the state, an official release said.

Tata ClassEdge officials informed the chief minister digital classroom lessons would make the children connected virtually and enable them to think and visualise lessons instead of reading them out of a book.

This model was implemented in 350 schools in Maharashtra and would cost Rs 5-8 lakh per class room, according to the release.
