However, he added that all the preparatory arrangements were tentative to help facilitate smooth transition of power to the new state governments. “The new governments will take a final call in the larger interests of people of both the states,” he was quoted as saying in a press note issued by Raj Bhavan.
Senior officers of the committees working on resource mobilisation, irrigation and physical assets available in the Twin Cities have submitted a detailed report on their respective fields to the governor, the statement said.
Principal secretary, revenue, S P Singh sought a broad-based committee consisting of members from the Planning Commission, Ministry of Finance and senior officers from the state finance department to examine and validate the report of the resource mobilisation with a focus on modalities of revenue apportionment and conflict resolution mechanisms, it said.
