The proposal and the strategy were discussed in length at the state-level review meeting of the Chhattisgarh's commerce and industry department. The meeting was chaired by the industry secretary, Subodh Kumar Singh.
"The state government would give top priority to the units that would generate more and more jobs for the local youths," Singh said. The meeting discussed about exploring the possibilities of inviting the industries related to agriculture, food processing, solar energy and information technology. The district-level officials of the department had been directed to associate with the plan for skill development in their resp-ective area. They have been asked to remain in constant touch with the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and the Livelihood Colleges that had been imparting skill development in different trades.
"The officials will discuss with the industrialists in their area; note the requirement of skilled manpower and take necessary action to train the local youths in that particular trade," Singh said.
The department would take necessary action for setting up rice mills and food processing units in Kawardha, Bemetara and Rajnandgaon.
