Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "love and blessings" for the state.

"We are not demanding Rs 50,000 crore or one lakh crore because we know governments have their own limitations. We demand your love for this state and your blessings for every initiative by this youngest state," Rao told Modi on the latter's maiden visit to Telangana.

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, was speaking at a public meeting here in Medak district after Modi launched Telangana's drinking water programme 'Mission Bhagiratha' and other projects.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief heaped praise on Modi saying he will be remembered for leading a corruption-free government. "Two years of the government under your leadership is hundred percent corruption free. The credit should go to you," said KCR.

The chief minister urged the PM to declare one irrigation project of the state as a national project. He also sought Centre's help for Mission Kakatiya under which the government plans to restore 45,000 irrigation tanks.

KCR also demanded an all India institute, an All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences and the help to make proposed Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR) in Hyderabad a reality.

He told Modi that Telangana was set to become number one IT exporter in the country with software exports of Rs 75,000 crore.

He said 2,303 industrial projects involving investment of Rs 46,000 crore were cleared under the new industrial policy.

Stating that Telangana is a state of backward classes, he said 80% of state's population are from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward castes, minorities and other weaker sections. "We are spending Rs 30,000 crore every year on the welfare of these sections," he added.
