ED makes first arrest in NSEL scam

The arrest has been made under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act

The enforcement directorate (ED) on Friday made its first arrest in the Rs 5,600-crore NSEL scam of Gagan Suri, chief executive of Yathuri Associates, one of the borrowers in question. The arrest has been made under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Suri has been arrested for siphoning off Rs 360 crore and defaulting on Rs 425 crore.
