Baramulla encounter: Security forces kill two militants in gunfight

Two militants were killed on Friday in an encounter with the security forces Sopore township in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday, police said.

Acting on specific information about the presence of militants in Watergam area of Sopore, security forces launched a cordon and search operation there, a police official said.

The encounter began after the militants opened fire on security forces during the search operation in Dursoo village, Rafiabad area, the official said.

Director General of Police S P Vaid said bodies of both the militants have been recovered. The bodies are yet to be identified.
