Cases against them were registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the AAI. The four CISF jawans were arrested for their involvement in destroying valuable equipment at the airport.

After the incident, the CISF has transferred 67 of its officers to Bengaluru and Chennai airports. An official CISF statement stated the transfer was a routine exercise, following its established practice of transferring a section of the soldiers every two years.

"This is nothing connected with the melee at the airport," it said.

The nine members of the fire & rescue (F&R) wing of AAI, who were arrested on June 11, have been remanded by the First Class Judicial Magistrate of Manjeri, in the Malappuram district. Sources said 40 officers of the F&R department would be transferred soon.
