Fresh magnitude-6.7 tremors felt in Nepal

Himalayan state already paralysed by Saturday's catastrophic earthquake; death toll reaches 1,900 and still rising

A fresh tremor reading 6.7-magnitude on the richter scale has hit the already ravaged Himalayan state of Nepal where a quake measuring 7.9 had hit just yesterday. 

There was fresh panic on the streets of Kathmandu which in the last 24 hours has seen around 30 aftershocks. Avalanches in the Himalayas have resulted in mountaineers being stranded or injured.

The quake that struck Saturday around noon has taken the lives of over 1,900 people so far, injuring hundreds and sent shock waves throughout the tourist country as well as across the world.

Agnecies report that there might be hundreds still stranded under the rubble, thus, pressing for the need for an acelerated rescue and relief operations.

The scale of destruction at the epicentre, 30 km from Pokhara town, was so sever that its aftershocks felt in some North Indian states  killed as many as 53 people, a number that Indian authorities believe will go up with the rescue operation entering into later stages.
