Gopal Subramaniam asks NSA Ajit Doval for officers to conduct DDCA inquiry

Former Attorney General Gopal Subramaniam, who has been tasked by the Delhi Government with investigating alleged corruption in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), has written to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval asking for a team of officers.

NDTV reported Tuesday that Subramaniam has asked for the names and dossiers of top officers from various departments to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the matter.

Speaking to NDTV, Subramaniam said, "I have written to him as he is a distinguished police officer, worked with many eminent people in the field and he will be able to suggest good names. I want security to be a top priority in this issue and he understands the ramifications of the issue as well."

According to a Hindustan Times report, Subramaniam has asked for five men each from the Central Bureau of Investigation, Intelligence Bureau and Delhi police to constitute the SIT.

Subramaniam on Monday had strongly pitched for live telecast of the proceedings to make it transparent. 

"I would also like to make it clear that I have already promised a public inquiry. The same should be held at a suitable place. I offer it to be televised because I would like anybody in the world to watch how the Commission is proceeding to deal with this matter," said Subramaniam. 

The Delhi government on Tuesday had tabled a resolution to set up a Commission of Inquiry to probe alleged corruption in the DDCA.
