After a record voter turnout in the first phase, as Gujarat goes for the second phase of polling on Monday, December 17, corporate Gujarat gears up to vote.

Major Ahmedabad based corporates have declared either a holiday or a 'half-day' at work to encourage employees to go out and vote.

Some have gone the extra mile and have taken this up a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to educate voters to exercise their rights and make an informed choice. City-based textile major Arvind Ltd and tea maker Wagh Bakri Group have campaigned to raise awareness around voting rights.

Parag Desai, executive director, Wagh Bakri Tea said, "We have campaigned to educate people on why it is important to vote, voting not just their right, but there duty also." The company has declared Monday as a holiday, not just for the corporate office, but also at its production house to enable employees to cast their vote.
