Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Chhattisgarh

Incessant rainfall that Chhattisgarh had been witnessing for the last two days had disrupted normal life in the state.About 300 workers engaged in a bridge construction work on Jonk River in Mahasamund district had been trapped following the flooding of the river. The district administration has launched a rescue operation to evacuate the workers.

In Gariyaband, 36 villages have been cut off after furious Perry River started flowing above danger mark. Many parts of the state had been cut off from the district headquarters. The plying of buses had been disrupted in about 70 per cent of the routes across the state.In the state capital, many low lying areas were flooded with two days non-stop rains. The prominent roads leading to the state legislative assembly were inundated.
