Himachal collects toll tax worth Rs 82 cr

There are currently 57 toll barriers across Himachal Pradesh, collecting a revenue of almost Rs 82 crore in the last financial year. Replying to a written question in the state assembly on Friday, Prakash Chaudhary, state excise and taxation minister said the bid price this fiscal for these toll barriers is Rs 89 crore. Giving a break up of the toll barriers, Chaudhary said Baddi alone had 12 toll barriers, while Sirmaur had 11, Nurpur had 11 and Una had 15, among other places.

In another written reply the health minister Kaul Singh said till July this year 5.9 million people in the state had made UID (aadhar) cards. Around 927,000 people are still to make UID cards.
