Agitated youths on Tuesday torched the house of a ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) activist who was killed by militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district late on Monday.
Later Hizbul militant Showkat Falahi was killed in a scuffle with the family of the slain PDP activist.
After attending the funeral of Falahi scores of youth marched to the house of Ramzan in Imam Sahib area and set it ablaze, police sources said.
Director General of Police S. P. Vaid said: "A mob on the instigation of terrorists attacked the house of ex-sarpanch who was killed last night." The police and security forces rescued the family of the slain activist, he added.
