A software engineer has been arrested for allegedly recording intimate moments with his wife and streaming them live on a porn site using his laptop for money. The accused, a resident of Jeedimetla in the city, had been live streaming videos recorded through his laptop's webcam, which was positioned in his bedroom.

"The woman, working with an IT firm, came to know about the existence of her explicit videos last November after her friend from Kerala informed her," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime Police Station) S Jayram said. On her complaint, police registered a case under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC and under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.

“Apparently, she was alerted by a friend who happened to watch it on a website. We traced the IP address of the video link to Thrissur in Kerala. When the owner of the IP address was questioned, he admitted to downloading the clip from a certain porn website and later uploading it on others,” Jayaram said.

During the course of investigation, the police found that it was the woman's husband who was behind the act. He was arrested on April 7 and remanded in judicial custody.

"His mobile phone and laptop were checked and incriminating evidence was found. His bank accounts were also verified and enough technical evidence was found," the ACP added.

A police officer said, "He played a film on the laptop at the same time to conceal the fact that the web cam was on. Also, he wanted his wife to look at the monitor so that the viewers watching the live stream would see her properly.

The techie confessed that he was addicted to pornography since childhood, and had even registered himself on some websites as a male escort willing to offer his “services” to women, Hindustan Times reported.
