She also indicated the state is presently undertaking its own assessment of damages and will submit a detailed memorandum seeking assistance from National Disaster Response Fund and other Central funding by November 23, 2015.
She has urged Singh to speedily depute the Central team to the state to make its own on-the-spot assessment and recommend release of Central assistance without delay.
It may be noted that, during the past one week many parts of the state, including Chennai, have come to standstill due to heavy rains and floods.
Almost all the dams and water resources are overflowing. Reports stated over 100 people have died and one Chennai-based insurer alone has got claim intimation of around Rs 110 crore and expecting more to come in the coming days.
Many parts of the state standing crops are affected due to heavy floods.
