Replying on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address in the State Assembly today, Jayalalithaa said that as the Parliament elections are slated soon, then the government would change and the scenes would also change.
“AIADMK will be in a position to determine the policies of the central government. At that time a resolution against Sri Lanka would be brought in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and steps would be taken for its victory,” she said.
The AIADMK Supermo noted a resolution to be brought by four nations against Sri Lanka for violation of human rights in UNHRC, which is scheduled for next month and she stressed that India should bring such a resolution but the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre would not do that.
She said her government is firm on the issue of declaring those who committed war crimes in Sri Lanka during the internal strife there as war criminals and getting them punished.
Jayalalithaa said till that happens there should be economic sanctions against Sri Lanka. There should not be any sporting events between the two nations; training of Lankan soldiers should not be trained in India.
