Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa sanctioned a total sum of Rs 42 lakh as relief to the families of 14 policemen who had died recently.
Jayalalithaa also condoled the death of the policemen, four of whom had died in road accidents in different parts of the state.
In a statement, Jayalalithaa expressed her sympathies with the families of the deceased and announced a relief of Rs three lakh to each of them from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
