The Maharashtra legislature will have special one-day session on Monday to ratify the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Constitution Amendment Bill passed by the Parliament.
In the 288-member Maharashtra assembly, the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance has a majority of 185.
With the opposition Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in favour of GST, the state legislature is set to ratify the bill unanimously.
Congress and NCP held a meeting in Mumbai on Sunday to apprise its MLAs and MLCs of the provisions of the GST.
According to reports, the parties have demanded a discussion on the provisions of GST in the house on Monday.
