Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited looking for engineers as executive trainees

Interested candidates are required to write Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineers (GATE) 2017 examination

The premier warship-building organization, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) (Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazagon_Dock_Limited) is looking for young Engineers in the Mechanical and Electrical disciplines as Executive Trainees (ET). Candidates interested in joining MDL as ET are required to write Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineers (GATE) 2017 examination.
 
Profit-making Central Government Schedule ‘A’ public sector undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production, MDL engages primarily in the building of warships and submarines for the Indian Navy. The shipyard with ISO 9001:2008 accreditation recently issued an advertisement (MDL/HR-CR/REC/52/2016) in leading dailies inviting application from interested candidates.
 
Eligibility criteria

Applications are invited only from Indian Nationals, who have graduated in Mechanical and Engineering stream of Engineering with a minimum first class or 60 percent marks from a recognized University/ Institute.
 
Candidates need to apply online on MDL website www.mazdock.com after obtaining the registration number for GATE 2017 examination. The GATE 2017 application is already open and will close on September 22, 2016.
 
GATE score of 2016 or scores of previous GATE examination shall not be entertained and the selection process will commence only after the declaration of GATE 2016 results.
 
Although it is not officially declared, MDL often recruits Senior Engineer with at least 1-year experience using GATE marks. Candidates desirous to apply for Senior Engineer position in MDL can also write GATE Exam for being eligible as and when the vacancy arises.

 
Selection process

Graduate engineers from Mechanical and Electrical disciplines are required to write GATE 2017 examination in the same disciplines. The GATE papers along with GATE paper codes will be considering for selection process. Candidates will be shortlisted for personal interview based on their GATE score. However, according to some media reports, in the event of large number of applications, management may decide to hold a written test followed by interview.

All original documents such as degree certificate, proof of date of birth, caste certificate etc. will be checked at the time of interview. If a selected candidate is not able to provide original documents, he/she will be debarred from appearing for the interview and no travelling allowance will be reimbursed.

According to official sources, MDL has a consistent growth and its present turnover is approximately Rs 4,000 crore. MDL has employee strength of around 9,000.
