The Cellular Operators Association of India has asked the department of telecommunications to extend the deadline for implementing full mobile number portability (MNP) by two months.

Full MNP was to be implemented from May 3. Full MNP will allow a mobile subscriber to change the service provider anywhere in India without changing his mobile number. Now, MNP service is restricted to a circle.
