While there is a crucial debate on among the top brass of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) regarding party's prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general elections, nation's capital is gearing up for a rock concert to promote Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as the next prime minister of the country.

The rock concert to be held on May 31 is organised by youths who had launched the 'Modi-fying India' campaign last month in New Delhi. During the concert the campaign song NaMo NaMo, positioning Modi as BJP's prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 elections, will be launched. The song is a fusion of metal, rock and folk music.

Not only that, under the campaign the group plans to being out animated comic books based on Modi's biography along with posters, stickers and other items. The group had last month launched T-shirts with Modi's picture and tagline 'India First is my definition on Secularism'.

"First, we had thought only of releasing the theme song -- Namo Namo -- for our campaign on Narendra Modi as PM at a small function. But, now we have converted the event into a concert where others song on patriotism will also be played," said Tejendar Pal Singh Bagga, former member of the BJP youth wing and organiser of the rock concert. Bagga is also leading the campaign for Modi as PM.

He added that while the song will be in Hindi, the group intends to subsequently launch one song each month in other vernacular languages, including Bhojpuri, Tamil and Bengali.

According to Bagga, Panchtarni, a Kashmiri rock band comprising Rahul Tikoo and Ashish Bhat, will launch the Namo Theme song. Bagga and Ashish have penned the lyrics of the song on Modi for prime minister.

"We want to reach out to people, especially, youth in states other than Gujarat. This would include south Indian states. We are pitching for Modi as we admire the work he had done in Gujarat. His work should be replicated across the country," Bagga, who is also convenor of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena, said.
