The Supreme Court will on Monday hear a plea of the Delhi Government challenging the Delhi High Court judgment according to which Delhi continues to be a Union Territory and the Lieutenant Governor its administrative head.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had adjourned the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s original suit on wanting administrative control of Delhi which was filed on June 29.

The Delhi government informed the Supreme Court that it will file a Special leave Petition (SLP) against the high court order within a week.

The apex court will hear AAP government's original suit and SLP against the Delhi High Court's judgment on interpretation of Article 239 AA of the Indian Constitution.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has also said that the Delhi Government can't claim two remedies at one time.
