There were no admissions to DU on the fourth day Friday amid a continuing row between the UGC and the varsity over the controversial four-year undergraduate programme.
The admissions were to begin Tuesday but were suspended after the University Grants Commission told Delhi University to scrap the four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP) started in the last academic year.
The UGC sent a letter to Delhi University on Wednesday, asking the varsity to begin admissions from Thursday.
The Delhi University, in turn, Thursday sent a "blended proposal" in which it suggested to the commission that it would give a three-year honours degree, and make a few amendments in the FYUP, a move which the UGC rejected Thursday.
The controversy has affected thousands of students who are vying for a seat in the prestigious university.
University officials were not available for comments Friday on the future course of action.
Meanwhile, student groups have intensified their protest, and some of them are on hunger strike, demanding the admission process begins immediately.
