The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday decided to constitute a climate change authority besides approving state bio-diversity policy and setting up of model schools.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the state Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
The Cabinet decided that to mitigate and minimise harm on environment, an authority headed by the chief minister would be constituted.
The Cabinet also approved rehabilitation policy for physically challenged people and a proposal to increase land area and subsidy for houses to be constructed under Lohia Rural Housing Scheme.
A proposal to set up state-of-the-art control rooms in Agra and Varanasi was also approved.
