 "Water level in 91 reservoirs dips to 67%, says Government")
The water level in 91 major reservoirs in the country has plunged to 67% of their total capacity from 68% last week, the government said on Friday.
According to water resources ministry, 105.209 billion cubic metre (BCM) of water was available in these reservoirs for the week ending on November 24.
The stock was 125% of the storage reported during the corresponding period last year, while it is 97% of the decadal average, the ministry said in a statement.
The states which have recorded less storage vis--vis the corresponding period last year are Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, while the water levels in reservoirs in Uttarakhand reported equivalent levels to as those last year.
Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Karnataka have reported better stock compared to last year.

Last week, the stock available in these reservoirs was 107.449 BCM. The total capacity of the reservoirs is 157.799 BCM.
