11 pvt hospitals allowed to treat flu patients in Mumbai

TheMaharashtra government has allowed 11 private hospitals in Mumbai to treat swine flu cases, Health Secretary Sharvaree Gokhale said here on Friday.

Four private hospitals in Pune and a hospital in Navi Mumbai have also been allowed to treat swine flu patients, she told reporters at Mantralaya.

The hospitals include Bombay Hospital, Breach Candy, Hinduja, Kokilaben Ambani, Nanavati, Hiranandani, Wockhardt and Inlak hospital in Mumbai, she said.

Tamiflu tablets would be provided to patients by these hospitals free of cost, Gokhale said. The state government received 2.5 lakh Tamiflu tablets from the Centre on Thursday, she said.
