The Orissa State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) has issued direction to thirteen Railway sidings in Keonjhar district for causing pollution.
These units were violating the guidelines framed by the OSPCB for checking pollution at mineral stock yard and Railway sidings, said chief minister Naveen Patnaik.
Replying to a query in the state assembly, Patnaik said, Global Associates (Bolani), Barbil Railway Station (SE Railway), Nayagarh Railway Station (East Coast Railway), Joruli Railway Station (SE Railway), Banspani Railway Station (SE Railway), Deojhar Railway Station (SE Railway) and Parjanpur Railway Station have been issued directions to stop operations.
Similarly, Keonjhargarh Railway Station (East Coast railway), Bileipada Railway siding of Tata Sponge Iron Ltd, Bolani Railway Station (SE Railway), Essel Mining and Industries Pvt Ltd (Barbil) and East India Minerals Pvt Ltd have also been served notice for stopping operations
