Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday has said that 3,000 km road, under the Prime Minister's Rural Road Scheme, will be constructed by 2017.

While the Centre will spend Rs 868 crore, the state's contribution will be Rs 579 crore, he said.

Inaugurating 544 roads and 70 bridges and laying foundation stone for 622 rural roads and 63 bridges in Giridih district online, Das said development is not possible without creating basic infrastructure.

He also appealed to the people, who have drifted from the society, to surrender and come back to the mainstream.

Stressing on speedy, all-round, and inclusive development, Das said the state government is moving on the path of qualitative work and will not tolerate any no compromise in that area.

Harping on inclusive development, he said his government wants development of all sections of the society and directed the rural development department to fix responsibility on engineers in road construction works and set up a task force to ensure qualitative work.

Schemes were being prepared as per the suggestions of the villagers. They can decide on the schemes for the next three years, the Chief Minister said.

He also said a Kendriya Vidyalaya will be set up in Giridih district.
