9th India innovation summit to be held in Bengaluru

Theme for this year's summit is "India as Start-up Nation: S Gopalakrishnan

Confederation of Indian Industries today said its 9th India innovation summit will be held here on Aug 7 and 8.

The theme for this year's summit is "India as Start-up Nation", CII President and summit Chairman S Gopalakrishnan said.

Stating that Bengaluru was one of the top eight innovation hubs in the world, he said:"environment here is ideally suited for innovation.

This is due to the presence of several large companies, government institutions, R&D centres, prominent medical facilities and academic institutions that give the city the right elements and ecosystem for innovation, he added.

Organisers said the summit will be an ideal platform for the industry to explore the dynamic entrepreneurship environment in the country in terms of its opportunities and challenges and also analyse the emergence of India as a startup nation.
