The Puri-Bansapani-Puri express has been cancelled from both the directions on August 31 and September 1 following an accident between a loaded goods train and an empty goods train at Tangiriapal station in the Jakhapura-Keonjhar rail section about 125 km from here.
The accident occurred last midnight and one body has been recovered. Sanjeev Garg, Divisional Railway Manager of Khurda Road division under East Coast Railway (ECoR) rushed to the spot immediately with other senior Railway officials of the division.
A K Vohra, Member (Staff), Railway Board cum General Manager of ECoR also reached the accident site. An Accident Relief Train (ART) and Emergency Relief and Medical train also rushed to the spot from Khurda Road and Bhadrak for rescue operations.
