The state government's planning department has revised the advance estimate of the growth in the gross state domestic product for the current year to 8.43 per cent from 8.35 per cent, basing on the inputs and trends received in the month of April and May.
 
This year's projections place the state at a higher level, above the growth of the country's GDP of 8.1 per cent during the year 2005-06 and its own growth rate of 7.55 per cent during the same period.
 
In population growth, the state managed to stay at 1.3 per cent as compared with the national average of 1.7 per cent, according to a note prepared by the planning department.
 
The growth in per capita income in the state stood at 7.05 per cent in the last financial year as compared with the national average of 6.73 per cent, it said.
