AP to come out with new mining policy

The Andhra Pradesh mining department was formulating a new policy to facilitate sanction of more mining leases and establishment of new projects, said Galla Aruna Kumari, mines and geology minister.

She was here to inaugurate the 9th International Heavy Minerals conference-2013 recently. She said the AP Mineral Development Corporation was actively pursuing with the mines department for exploring heavy mineral beach sands for supply of raw materials to those who propose to set up beneficiation plants in the area.

AP with a coastline of 900 km has about 153 million tonne heavy mineral beach sands.
