The new provision came into effect on August 6.

The bank credit card is in addition to the existing proofs of identity required for undertaking journey on e-tickets including voter I-Card, passport, PAN card, driving license, Photo I-Card issued by Centre or state government, said a senior ministry official

Student I-Card with photograph issued by recognised school or college for their students and Nationalised Bank Passbook with photograph is also being accepted as identity proof by railways.
