Senior BJP leader, Sumitra Mahajan who contested from the Indore Lok Sabha constituency for the seventh time in succession said today that the party organisation should take cognizance of the infighting which had plagued her election this time.
"In this election, it appeared to me that I was fighting against my own people rather than the Congress," Mahajan told PTI on phone from Indore.
Asked if she meant that she was fighting against the BJP itself in the elections, the party leader said, "How can I say that those who worked against me belonged to the BJP?" She said that now it was for the BJP organisation to tackle this malaise and ensure that it does not harm the party in the long run.
Despite this, workers right from the lowest rung to the topmost level had worked hard and sincerely for her and this would ensure her victory, the senior BJP leader said.
