The BJP yesterday demanded that India should declare Pakistan a terrorist state in view of the seizure of a Pakistani ship loaded with weapons off the Gujarat coast.
Party spokesperson Sushma Swaraj held that the seizure of the ship is a clinching evidence on Pakistans involvement in abetting terrorism in India and argued that no further proof is required. The ship is Pakistani, the flag on the ship is Pakistani and the crew members are Pakistani, besides that fact that the ship was loaded with arms and ammunition, Swaraj said. The demand for declaring Pakistan a terrorist state had come on many occasions earlier also but the issue was dropped giving Pakistan the benefit of doubt, she pointed out.
The recent event has left no room for doubt and it is an open and shut case she added.
