Centre reviews subsidy scheme for SMEs in Mysore

A 19-member team of senior officers of the Indian Economic Services (IES) of the Government of India was apprised of the Karnataka government’s industrial policy and the benefits and subsidies offered for the development of industries in the State.

The team visited the Mysore Industries Association (MIA) and interacted with local industrialists on the industrial scenario in Mysore today.

The National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of the Government of India had organised their visit, as part of a two-week training program on MSME promotion for in-service IES officers representing various ministries.

The officers are exposed to important institutions like MSME-DI and few industrial units for better understanding on MSMEs in the country as part of the training programme.

Apart from the government industrial policy, the interaction touched upon sectors like power, infrastructure, taxation, labour and employment.

MIA Joint Secretary Vijay C S Anand made a power point presentation about the industrial scenario in Mysore.

District, while MIA President Viswanath explained the industry growth. Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) officer T R Swamy explained the role of the KIADB in setting up of industries.

The team visited Rangsons Electronics in Hebbal Industrial Area. Rangsons Senior Manager H S Ramesh explained the edge technology and manufacturing capabilities of the ISO 9001-2000 company.
