Chhattisgarh government has announced an eight per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for the state government employees.
The Raman Singh government's latest gesture will cost the exchequer an additional burden of Rs 200 crore annually. The revised DA will be paid with effect from October 1. About 2,25,000 employees will benefit with the announcement.
The state government employees' DA will now increase from 27 per cent to 35 per cent. However, it is still 10 per cent less to the DA paid to the Central government employees.
