Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram will inaugurate the 29th annual conference of Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Income Tax here today.
The two-day conference is being organised by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) at Vigyan Bhawan here.
Minister of State for Finance (Revenue) Namo Narain Meena will deliver the valedictory address in the afternoon of May 29.
The annual conference will allow the Chief Commissioners/ Directors General to have direct interaction with the senior functionaries of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on various issues arising in the field.
The main areas for deliberations during the two-day conference would be steps to augment revenue, tax administration reforms, strengthening of TDS machinery, widening and deepening of tax base, improving taxpayer services and Human resources management among others.
