Chouhan has made this appeal in a letter sent to Union Minister and infomed him that his government has already selected 524 acre of land near Indore for establishment of this Central institute, an official release said.
This land is only 22 kilometres away from Indore railway station, the chief minister in his letter said and added that a 56,000 square feet building in Indore city has been selected for running this institution so that studies can be started right from this session.
Chouhan also apprised the Union Minister about his government's earlier letter in May requesting the Human Resources Department to send a Central team for assessing the utility of the land as well as the building.
Chouhan has said that it would be appropriate to open IIT at Indore right from this session in view of shortage of quality institutions for higher studies in the state. PTI JA rrn 06171326 DEL
