A high-level delegation of Congress party from Chhattisgarh today met President Pratibha Patil and submitted a charge-sheet (Aroppatra) pointing out alleged corruption cases and scandals that took place in the last seven-year rule of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state.
The Congress delegation comprising senior leaders and legislators from the state met the President in New Delhi today afternoon. “The Congress leaders submitted the charge-sheet prepared against the BJP-led state government exposing the corruption cases and scandals that had taken place in last seven years,” state Congress committee spokesperson Ramesh Varlyani said.
The leaders also demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as they said the state agencies were working in favour of the state government and were under its influence. The Congress leaders pointed fingers at the working of Lok Ayog and said it was working under the sway of Chief Minister Raman Singh.
In the charge-sheet, the Congress party that is in opposition in the state charged that serious irregularities had been committed by the state government in recommending mines to the industries. It added that the state government had also acquired tribals’ land by keeping all norms at bay for industrial use.
