Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said his government was keen on providing cooking gas connection to every household in the state.
Naidu's government completes 2 years in office on Wednesday. He was sworn in as chief minister on June 8, 2014 a week after the formal bifurcation the state.
The chief minister said his government has adopted a mission mode approach to improve the quality of life of people through the launch of city gas grid, water grid and power grid among other things. Union Petroleum Ministry has recently allocated natural gas for the proposed city gas distribution network in East and West Godavari districts.
Also the public sector companies GAIL and ONGC representatives on Wednesday informed the chief minister that they were considering a proposal to set up a new LPG plant in Krishna district.
Naidu also announced that his government has achieved 100 per cent electrification in the state by electrifying 4.47 households under the Power for All initiative in the last two years.
"The government is also working hard to provide drinking water connection and cable connection to all the houses in the state. In addition to this, the government aims to provide water for irrigation to every farm," Naidu said. He instructed the officials to prepare a road map for every constituency to help fulfill the targets for the year.
This year the state has already seen 8 per cent increase in rainfall and the ground water levels have increased to 12.93 meters.The increase in water table so fare is equivalent to 90 tmc and is expected to reach 200 tmc by the end of this month, according to the chief minister.
