Fresh Vat Relief Sought

States have demanded a fresh compensation package for phasing out central sales tax over the next three years.

While states have agreed on reduction in central sales tax to 2 per cent from 4 per cent at present in the empowered committee meeting on February 8, they have asked the Centre to make good the revenue losses.
