GIFT City attracts global IT firms like Oracle, Maxim Integrated

According to V-P Oracle has set up its tenth development centre in the country at GIFT City

After financial institutions, major global Information Technology (IT) and IT Enabled Service (ITeS) firms like Oracle, Maxim Integrated and Befree have begun operations at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).

Maxim Integrated is a $2 billion US-based integrated solutions company and Befree is a leading book-keeping company from Australia. The IT and financial hub at Gandhinagar has also seen the likes of e-commerce player Infibeam and (n) Code Solutions either acquiring space or setting up public key infrastructure (PKI) facility in GIFT City.

Infibeam is in advance stages of commencing its corporate office and overall back office operations, while (n)Code Solutions — a subsidiary of GNFC has set up a PKI facility to offer digital signature certificate & a range of PKI-based solutions at GIFT City.

Companies like QX Corporate, Iship Design and Accvell Technologies too have established their presence in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) area of GIFT City for export of various IT enabled services.

"Easy access to world class infrastructure and facilities will make this unit one of our finest facilities in India. Initiatives like GIFT city will go a long way in fortifying India's image as an opportune business centre," said S Shenoy, group vice-president, Oracle India.

According to Shenoy, the company has set up its tenth development centre in the country at GIFT City where technology professionals are developing cutting-edge cloud solutions.
