Coming under pressure on grounds of environment, the mining industry in Goa has been discussing ideas with experts to see how the situation in the state could be improved.

Suggestions include study of dump management in the monsoons. At a recent meet with experts from the USAEP environmental project, mining firms in Goa suggested that their activity here could be benchmarked with mines in other countries, and best-practices could be inculcated.
