"We have displayed our determination in providing ample prudence in the fiscal management, and we are committed to achieve zero revenue deficit and reduce fiscal deficit to a manageable three per cent of the gross domestic product by the year 2008-09," Kamat has said in the message written in the recently released book listing achievements of his government.

The book describing the Goa government's achievements marked one year completion of Kamat in his chair, this month. If we are able to achieve the targeted fiscal management then Goa will become one of the best governed states of the country, Kamat added.

The three-page preface which briefly touches on the achievements mentions that his governments working model is based on the premise of transparency and trust for the people.

Hence our effort and initiatives to empower our various government department to modernize themselves using the modern tools and dynamics and show transparency and e-governance.

To be a common man's user friendly government at all times, has been a collective effort, he writes.
