The government today invited applications for appointing two members to the newly-created airport regulator Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA).
The move comes following the appointment of Maharashtra cadre IAS officer Yashwant S Bhave as Chairman of the AERA on June 26.
A selection committee, set up for this purpose, will consider the applications and recommend names, a government advertisement said.
The members will be appointed for five years from the date of appointment or till they turn 62, it said.
Civil Aviation Secretary Madhavan Nambiar had recently said that the regulator is likely to start functioning shortly.
The AERA will have the powers to determine capital expenditure and investment to improve airport facilities, set tariffs for aeronautical services as well as prescribe schedule standards for operations at all airports.
