Govt to abolish 1% export tax on industries

The state government is likely to do away with the export tax of 1 per cent, which it had imposed on all industries. The tax is levied by civic bodies like panchayat, municipal or municipal corporations. The government recently suspended the tax in the Pithampur industrial area but has yet not decided on other industrial zones. “We will soon decide about the withdrawal of this tax,” Satya Prakash, additional chief secretary, department of industries, said on Saturday.
