It's not yet clear who will present the budget since the Chief Minister is yet to distribute portfolios among his cabinet colleagues

The Harish Rawat government will present its first Budget in the Assembly on Thursday, the session for which would resume after a hiatus of nearly a fortnight.

Interestingly, the Budget will be presented in the continuation of the special session which was convened last month for passing the Lokpal Bill by former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna, who had also decided to present the Budget on February 6. Even after the change of guard on February 1, Rawat made no changes in the schedule set by his predecessor. “Most of the Budget work had been completed much before the change of guard took place,” a top government official said.

But it is not yet clear who will present the Budget since the chief minister is yet to distribute portfolios among his Cabinet colleagues.
